On the first pic on the left we are about to leave Phuket after the first night there, I spent a few hours on Phuket Bike-week where they had a bikeshow and some stands if you want to buy leatherjackets or wallets or maybe a helmet or T-shirt. I bought.....nothing (will probably surprise Lena).
We planned our trip for a few weeks but the only thing we new when we started was that the first stop was Koh Samui, we didn´t even have some maps or a GPS (we bought some maps in 7/11, didn´t help much as they only had Thainames on the map though).

(he´s allergic),,,,,,,,,,,,,,,nah just kidding.
That´s the way he looks.
How is that saying ? "Only a mother can ........."
Kalle talked (sort of) to some people and they where very proud to show us what they had in the oven. We looked into it and saw somebody's grandpa or grandma in there. That was a new experience. As it was almost as hot outside as it was in the furnace so we jumped on the bikes and headed for the ferry.

Kalle nagged about some culture so we visited the Big Buddha also, pics below. Also some more wet "Song Kran-pics" below.
We slept there one night after spending real Song Kran with a bunch of hose-holding hugging youngsters getting all wet again. The morning after "Culture-Kalle" dragged me to another tempel, this one was really nice actually, 1600 years old
( my age Kalle said) with 142 kilos of gold on the top. (afterwords we heard that this town is called murdertown if you want a contractkilling you should go here and if you aren´t nice to people they kill you. Luckily we didn´t know that, otherwise we would´t have hitchhiked with the nastiest looking hoodlum in the town)
We had plans to cross the Malaysian border but that would have messed up my VISA giving me only 15 days coming back to Thailand, not sufficient when we leave at 15:th of May. Kalle was grumpy for 5 minutes but then he was happy-Kalle again. Next stop was Ao Nang to spend the night there. | |
| We decided to go to one of the many caves in Thailand, we picked one where you paddled on a river and through the cave. There is one thing about roadsigns in Thailand, it seems like they randomly put the distance on every sign , if it says 38 km`s on the first one next one might be 62 km`s. That made the trip to the cave a little longer than we thought. It was well worth the effort though. Pics on the left (many of them so wait for them to change) |
